Gerald T. Sweezey Obituary

Jerry passed away November 27, 2017. He was born May 13, 1939 in Spring Valley, Illinois to George and Lillian Sweezey, where he grew up and attended school.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Sweezey of 57 years, brother Louis of Virginia, brother-in-law David (Jeannie) Fleming of Aptos, and many nieces and nephews.

After high school, Jerry joined the Marine Corps and then the Air Force. He was discharged from Beale Air Force Base around 1963. He had been a Yuba Sutter resident since. After Jerry's discharge, he was in insurance sales, was a logistician for many years, and auto sales and brokerage.

Jerry was a Mason, belonging to the Marysville Corinthian-Hammonton Lodge. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Shrine. On becoming a member of the Shrine, he became well known as "Shine the Clown". He spent many of his early years at the and was involved in many events in the area making balloons. He loved the children and spent many hours visiting them.

Jerry was also a member of the Marysville First United Methodist Church.

Upon his death, he requested that no funeral service or memorials be held. Cash memorials, if desired, can be made to the Marysville Methodist Church or , 2425 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95817.

Final disposition is being handled by Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
