Glenn Keding Obituary

Glenn Keding, 97, of Yuba City, passed away quietly at home surrounded by his wife and children, January 10, 2014. Born October 12, 1916 in Sealy, Texas, a Yuba-Sutter area resident for 69 years. He was a retired carpenter, building many homes, schools, and businesses in the Yuba-Sutter area. He built two of the family homes, "from the ground up."

Glenn served in the U.S. Army in the Army Engineers, Army Air Corp, and Army Service Command from April 1943 - April 1946, he was discharged at Camp Beale.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Yuba City; the Carpenter's Union for over 50 years; and a life member of Duck's Unlimited.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Dorothy Keding of Yuba City; son & daughter-in -law Doyle and Carol Keding of Roseburg, OR daughter and son-in-law Glennis & Dan Wilson of Grass Valley, CA; granddaughter, Jennifer Wilson of Hayward, California, grandson, Christopher Wilson of Grass Valley, CA; sister, Dorothy Jackson of Houston, TX; and many nephews and nieces in Colorado and Texas.

Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, Yuba City; Sutter North Hospice, or flowers.

Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Yuba City, with Pastor John Vessell officiating. Burial will follow at Sutter Cemetery with Military Honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
