Glyn Bythell Obituary

Glyn Bythell, born William Henry Glyn Bythell, passed away peacefully at his home February 18, 2018, with his family present. He was born in Brynmawr, Breconshire, Wales, on April 1, 1928, to William and Maud Bythell. Glyn had a brother, Derek Bythell, and sister, Sue White. He was married July 6th, 1957, to Dolores Much "Dee" in Carmel California. They were happily married for 52 years until her passing November 1st, 2009. Glyn attended the University of Santa Clara and Stanford University. He was a very accomplished and admired Banker for 53 years. Glyn retired as Senior Vice President of accounting. He volunteered for the Royal Navy January 1946, and had a Class A release February 1949.

Glyn loved golf and his golfing buddies at PeachTree Country Club. He was a member there for 42 years. Glyn golfed all over the United States and in Europe as well. He was a dedicated member of Hope Point Nazarene Church. Glyn had an amazing photographic memory; he could recall dates and time with incredible detail from 50-60 years ago, it was quite extraordinary.

Glyn came to America in 1951, and moved to the Bay Area. He later moved to Chico, Ca, Sacramento, Ca, Redding, Ca then retiring in Yuba City, Ca. Glyn lived in Yuba City for 42 years. He is survived by his daughter, Gwynne, and her husband, Danny Carr of San Jose, Ca; son, Steve Bythell, and his wife, Amparo of Sacramento, Ca; granddaughter, Julie Fernlund, and her husband, Shane of Yuba City, Ca, grandson; Blake Bythell of Paradise, Ca; grandson, Darren Barone of San Jose, Ca; granddaughter, Rayna Beltran, and husband, Adam of Hollister, Ca; great-grandson, Trever Wentland of Yuba City, Ca; great-granddaughter, Emma Fernlund of Yuba City, Ca; great-granddaughter, Layla Beltran of Hollister, Ca; niece, Joy Ann White of Meadow Vista, Ca; and nephew, Lawson Bythell of Bristol, England. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores "Dee" Bythell, his sister, Sue White, and his brother, Derek Bythell.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate the life of Glyn Bythell on March 10th, 2018, at 10am: Hope Point Nazarene Church, 600 N George Washington Blvd., Yuba City, Ca 95993.

There will be a reception to follow at Peach Tree Country Club, and a private interment to follow at Sutter Cemetery. If you have any questions please call 530-673-5763.
