Helen Stineman Obituary

Helen Stineman, independent, proud, and decisive, passed away Saturday, December 10 in Roseville, California. She was born January 24, 1920 in East Nicolaus to Louisa Gertrude and Charles Hudson. She moved with her family to Wheatland in 1924 where her parents operated a soda fountain, later known as Bill's Place. She attended Wheatland Schools, and married a Wheatland man-Chester Wright Stineman.

Helen and Chester were farmers, with Helen serving as the Secretary-Treasurer of the ranch. She was a dedicated member of the community, serving on the Wheatland School Board, the Grand Jury and the Wheatland Water District. She was a 75 year member of Eastern Star and longtime member of the Wheatland Supper Club, Wednesday Club and Rebekah's. She loved dancing and traveling with Chet and participating in Shriner events. She was a Pink Lady, volunteering countless hours at Rideout Hospital.

She was proud of her town and its history. She was a charter member of the Wheatland Historical Society and was especially interested in the Wheatland Hop Riot.

She is predeceased by her husband Chester Stineman and sons John Arthur, and Chester Charles Stineman. She is survived by a son Bob Stineman and daughter Jane Paskowitz, and was a grandmother to Jack, Darryl, Anna, Don, Stephanie, and Jessica, Renee, Rachel, Mat, and Sara, Tamara and Michael, Megan and Katie. She is also survived by 27 great- grandchildren: Jillian and Lisa, Courtney, Dierdra, and Thomas. Dustin, Ryan, Alyssa, Chelsea, and Spencer. Lindsey, Jacob, Mitchell and Lucas, Chase, Abby, Braden, Teal, Cabella, Tule, Abby and Sarah, Rebecca, Julie, and Naomi, Rylan and Eli John; and one great-great-grandchild, Barrett.

Visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel. Services will be held at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel, 629 D St., Marysville on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Reception following at Pioneer Hall in Wheatland.
