Helen (Kelly) Ybarra Obituary

Helen (Kelly) Ybarra, 78, of Yuba City, CA passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 9, 2015. She was born to the late James O. Smith & Helen Kuhl Smith, March 7, 1936 in Yuba City, Ca. Kelly lived in Dobbins with her father where she attended school. She married her husbnand Raul Ybarra in October 1961 between them they had four sons.

Kelly worked hard all her life from picking cotton to waiting tables. She learned early how to stretch a dollar and a pot of beans. In 1962 Kelly and Raul opened Twin Cities Flower Box on Plumas Street in Yuba City for 40 years, closing in 2002.

She then traveled between her homes in Yuba City and Los Angeles here Raul worked in the Latin Entertainment and Music Industry. She traveled with him to events in the US, Mexico and Spain.

She loved her family above all. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Raul Ybarra, two sons; Doug Rose and John Rose, her brother Tad Smith and sister, Fanchon Traffensted.

She is survived by her two sons Ronald (Kathi) Ybarra of Yuba City, Ralph Rose of Browns Vally, 18 grandchildren, 19 great-granchildren, a sister in-law, Pat Smith of Yuba City and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January, 15, from 4-7 PM. Services will be Friday, January 16, at 11 AM. at Ullrey Memorial Home in Yuba City. Immediately following funeral at Sutter Cemetery.
