Herbert Cook Obituary

Herbert Cook, 75, passed away on April 16, 2016 in Reno, Nevada with family by his side. He was the husband of Brenda Cook. They shared 51 beautiful years of marriage together.

Born in Midland, Virginia, he was the son of Jessie and Elaine Cook. He attended school in Virginia then enlisted in the USAF where he spent eight years and is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed by the USDA and worked as a soil conservationist in California and Alaska until he retired in 2002.

Herb retired in Soldotna, Alaska where he and his wife enjoyed many years spending time with family and friends. Most days he could be found in his backyard admiring the Kenai River.

Herb enjoyed fishing, camping, wood working and gardening. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He always put his family first and was happy if they were happy.

Herb was preceded in death by siblings, Verna Reid and Joseph Cook.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Cook; siblings, Howard Cook, Edith Payne, Virginia Myers, William Cook and Patricia Montieth; children, Matthew Cook and Jennifer Fallon and her spouse William Fallon; grandchildren, Madeline, Hadley and William Fallon and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held this July on the Kenai River in Soldotna, Alaska.
