Ivilo Michael Renzullo Obituary

Ivilo Michael Renzullo, known to friends as Mike, and family as Lelo, passed away surrounded by family, on March 27, 2017. Ivilo was born November 9, 1929 to Rosina and Giacomo Renzullo in Torrington, Connecticut.

Ivilo graduated from Torrington High School in 1948 and got a job working for Armour Meat Company as a butcher. He served in the Air Force from 1951-1955 where he was a jet mechanic. After the Air Force he returned to his job at Armour Meat Company for a few years before his jet mechanic background in the Air Force allowed him to get an engineering job for Lockheed Corporation.

Due to his job with Lockheed, Ivilo was the first in his family to move to California in 1957. While in California he continued his education, graduating from Cal Poly in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Minor in Elementary Education. Upon graduating he returned to the east coast where he met his wife and worked at the Kittery, Maine Shipyards. He retired in 1984 from Lockheed and moved his family to Yuba City, CA to be closer to his brother Nevio.

While living in New Hampshire in the late 70's, Ivilo was an avid fisherman and lobsterman, often taking out family and friends. In the Yuba City community he enjoyed salmon fishing with his brother Nevio, was a member of the Yuba City Moose Lodge, bowled for many years in local leagues and enjoyed playing cards at Colusa Casino.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 40 years Edna (Pescatore) Renzullo, six brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his son Chris Renzullo (Jodi), granddaughters Gillian and Lauren, brother Nevio Renzullo Sr, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isidore's Catholic Church, 222 Clark Ave. Yuba City, CA 95991. There will be a celebration of life and lunch to follow in the Parish Hall dining room. The family asks in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in his memory to Saint Isidore's Catholic School for the Edna Renzullo Memorial Garden fund.
