James Earl Sullivan Obituary

James (Jim Bub) Earl Sullivan, 70, a lifetime Yuba-Sutter resident, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2017 surrounded by family. It is with heavy hearts that we send our cowboy home. He is best known in the community for his leather working craftsmanship and as the proprietor of longtime Downtown Marysville business Sullivan's Saddlery.

Jim was born and raised in Wheatland, Ca. where he attended Wheatland High School, tried his hand at saddle bronc riding, and later started his first saddle shop next door to his dad's barber shop while they jointly ran a Foremost Dairy Distributorship. His most recent interests included involvement in the Marysville Business Improvement District and the Wheatland Historical Society.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Linda Sullivan, sister Judy Sullivan, and son Harlan Jager. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Richardson) Sullivan, sisters Sharon Schroeder, and Debbie Sullivan, daughter Pamela (PJ) Sullivan [Luis Menchaca], sons Blane Jager, Mike Jager [Shelley], Glen Jager [Darcy], granddaughter Alicia Jager, grandsons Joshua Jager [Kayla] and Travis Jager, and two very loved great grandchildren Roanan and Roary.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Franklin Hall at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds on Friday, February 24 from 2-7. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Wheatland Historical Society (PO Box 164 Wheatland CA 95692) of which he was a lifetime member. Cards for the family may be sent to Sullivan's Saddlery.

"May your stomach never rumble. May your heart never ache. May your horse never stumble. May your cinch never break."
