Janice Mae Setters Obituary

Janice Mae Setters, 69, of Marysville, entered into rest on November 24, 2015. Jan was born at Rideout Hospital and was a lifelong resident of the Yuba-Sutter area.

Jan spent her career as a hairdresser, but her passion was her service for the Lord. She humbly served in women's ministries; prepared banquets; taught bible studies; lead prayer teams, and ministered to the ladies of Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge - most recently serving as SVTC Auxiliary president. Nothing thrilled Jan more than seeing God change a life. She often likened this transformation being like that of a caterpillar shedding it's cocoon and becoming a beautiful butterfly. The affect of Jan's ministry will be felt for generations to come. She reached out with outstretched hands and deeply touched many a heart.

Jan leaves her husband of 24 years, Lloyd Setters, son and daughter-in-law James and Liberty Setters of Browns Valley, daughter and son-in-law Renee and Keith Brown of Wheatland, aunt Ruth Marsh of Napa, brother Wayne Turpin of Tillamook, OR, nephew Jake Gregory of Sutter, nephews Brian and Josh Turpin of Yuba City, 7 grandchildren and a large extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jan at Crossroads Community Church on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:00 am located at 445 B Street, Yuba City, CA 95991.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to Sacramento Teen Challenge, 1-800-437-1919 or [email protected].
