Jim (Hoop) Hoopingarner Obituary

Jim (Hoop) Hoopingarner, age 66, passed away on September 17, 2014. A resident of Yuba-Sutter area, he was born November 8, 1947.

He was in the United States Air Force and retired after 23 years as a Vietnam War Veteran. After his retirement he was a member of the American Legions, as Vice Commander at Post 80, District 4.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Dusty R. Hoopingarner, of 10 years; his step-father, Thomas Stalf; his siblings, Barbara Hoopingarner, Carl Hoopingarner, Sharon (Bob) Carpenter, and Susan Nicoletti; his children, Michele (Jason) Arsenault, Michael (Kelly) Hoopingarner, John Hoopingarner, Julie Knox, Debbie (Dan) Bryeans Burke, Cheryl (Joe) Lindeman, and Deanne Bryeans. His surviving grandchildren consist of Anthony (Brittnee) Richey, Michael Richey, Courtney, Amber and Ashley Lindeman, Thomas Cook, Ashley Pace, Edwin and Mykora Potter, Peter Torres, and Rebecca Hoopingarner. His surviving great grandchild is Lilyann C. Richie, and various nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services and viewing will be at Hollycross Services, 486 Bridge St., Yuba City, from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm, on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Celebration of life will be at the American Legion, 5477 Feather River Blvd., Oliverhurst, CA, at 3:00 pm, following the service at Holycross.
