Jimmy, 72, passed away on November 3, 2012 in Live Oak, surrounded by his wife and children. Jimmy was born July 7, 1940 in Arkansas to Dottie Marie Jean (Bolinger) and Ernest Sylvester Jean. Jimmy moved to California with his family when he was 8 years old.|
Jimmy recently moved back to Live Oak after living in Oroville for 11 years. Before living in Oroville, he lived in Live Oak for 53 years. He attended Live Oak schools and was a graduate of the Class of 1958.
In 1958 he was drafted by a Major League Baseball team and also played Semi-Professional Baseball with the Sullivan Ranch Peach Pickers and the Twin Cities Giants. Jimmy met and fell in love with his future wife, Minerva (Minny) Fausset on a blind date and they were married in Reno, Nevada on September 1, 1962. Jimmy and Minny just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Jimmy started his trophy, awards and bowling supplies business, Nor-Cal Trophies in 1973. Jimmy loved playing golf. He played golf in the Amateur Golf Tour and was a member of the Table Mountain Men's Golf Association. Jimmy was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Oro Dam Cruisers Car Club. Jimmy was also a member of the Professional Bowlers Association and traveled all over the country to bowl in tournaments. Jimmy had 22 perfect 300 Bowling Games and five 800 Bowling series. Jimmy held the California State Masters Series Record for a number of years. He was named Bowler of the Year in the Yuba Sutter area twice. Jimmy was elected to the Yuba Sutter Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Jimmy also was a hard top Race Car Driver in the 1960's. Jimmy will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Minny Jean of Live Oak, his daughters; Fawn (Sukhraj) Dulai of Yuba City, and Nicole (Marcos) Angel of Live Oak, three grandchildren; Jalen and Jasmin Dulai, and Alicia Angel, his brother Raymond (Teri) Jean, sisters; Janell (Cleve) Fleming and Ruby Albright, and sisters-in-law Ernestine (Richard) Souza, and Blanche (Pat) Nord, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Dottie Jean, his brothers; Jack, Ray, and Odell and his sisters; Sylvia, Clynell and Wanda.
A memorial service in his honor will be at Chapel of the Twin Cities, 715 Shasta Street in Yuba City on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:00 am.
A celebration of life reception for Jimmy will immediately follow at Nu Generations Lanes, 876 West Onstott Road in Yuba City.
