I remember John so well from Calvary Temple. He was such a great teacher, and so fun. A man of God with a great sense of humor. Look forward to seeing you before long John.

My grandfather was an amazing person who loved the Lord with all of his heart. He gave of his time and money to reach others in the name of Christ and he was an example of what we all should strive to be as Christians. I know he was welcomed by Jesus into Heaven and I can only imagine the joyous reunion that took place upon his arrival!

Re and I have many fond memories of John and Mary Jane. They welcomed us into their church and home with open arms when we arrived at Beale AFB in 1965. We have been close, lasting friends since. John taught me so much about the practical things in life, but I cherish most the hours upon hours we talked about the Scriptures and Christ, our Savior. He introduced me 20 years ago to building much needed churches in foreign countries and we've averaged a project a year since then. Over the past several years, we shared visits between homes, the most recent in September, where we've reflected on the past, praised God for the present, and looked longingly to the future. John is now where he has wanted to be for years, with Mary Jane in the eternal presence of God.

There is no greater joy than knowing Uncle John is in the arms of Jesus, reunited with his family and friends who knew the Lord. However, ;-) I miss him. For years he was my rock, spiritual adviser and counselor. I loved him with all my heart. The greatest gift he ever gave was his intercessory prayer. Each time I knelt at his knees, held his hands in mine and prayed, I KNEW that he walked hand in hand with Jesus. I can hear his voice, feel his touch, sense his spirit whispering over my shoulder! My father gave me so much love that I was bereft for years after his passing. Uncle John filled that void and straightened out my life's walk with stern admonishments, fervent prayers and LOVE. I never doubted his love for me. He was as much an influence on my life as my own father. I hope to live in a way that reflects their teaching and advice, "for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that HE is able, to keep that which I've committed, unto HIM against that day". I want to see Uncle John, my parents and others AGAIN. Lovingly, Susan Watkins Pierce

I remember my Uncle John's wit and sense of humor. Although I did not get many chances to see him, I enjoyed our visits over the years at the Litwin Family reunions and my own mom's funeral. I pray God comforts his family during this time of loss but Uncle John is now with Jesus...a truely wonderful thing! Paul Litwin and Family

We are sorry to hear of the passing of John, although I know he is safe in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. I have thought of him fondly over the years. He was truly a man of God and it was reflected in all he did and said. I particularly remember being in his Sunday School Class. He was very serious about this faith and could be so funny at the same time. He greatly impacted our life and will certainly be missed.
