John Rocha Obituary

John Rocha, 86, of Marysville, passed away at home on November 20, 2017. John was born on September 1, 1931, in Chico.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Wanda, 2 sons; John Cecil Rocha of Yuba City, and Dale Thornton of Texas, 1 daughter, Dawn Bond of Marysville, 1 grandson, Brian (Emily), 5 granddaughters; Jessie (Levi), Makinzie (Michael), Elizabeth, Donica and Marce, 4 great-granddaughters; Leanne, Lucy, RileyAnn and Skylar, numerous nieces and 2 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Cecil and Clotilde Rocha, brothers; Merced, Larry and Cruz, sisters; Celia Amezquita, Lupe Bennett and Mary Wilkins, nephew, Ted Wilkins, niece, Sabra Hill and granddaughter, Lisa Flores.

John served with the United States Navy, stationed at Pearl Harbor. He retired from California Department of Transportation after 35 years, where he worked both as a Tree Maintenance Supervisor and a Landscape Supervisor.

John loved to fish and camp. He enjoyed going to the coast to crab. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and close friends. John and Wanda made many happy memories together during their many trips and cruises.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend who is loved and will be missed by many.

Services will be held in the chapel at Sierra View Cemetery on Thursday, November 30th, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Glen Raley will officiate.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in his name to the Marysville First United Methodist Church, 730 D Street, Marysville, CA 95901.
