Obituary Condolences

December 21, 1945 - July 5, 2015

With great sadness, Joseph (Joe) Fegan passed away this past 4th of July weekend from complications from pneumonia. He was a resident of Clipper Mills, CA. Joe was born in Coronado, CA to Joe and Rose Fegan and was one of 3 children. He grew up in San Francisco and later Belmont, CA. He graduated from Serra High School in 1963.

Joe had a very diverse life. Joe attended the Uppsala University in Sweden and later graduated from San Francisco State earning his BA. Later he received his MBA from Golden Gate University. He was a Viet Nam Veteran and awarded a Bronze Star for gallantry. He later was the editor and published the VVA of America magazine. He stayed active in Veteran's affairs, often helping other veterans with solving their problems.

Joe owned two different freight companies; Aero Marine International in San Francisco and JFK Inter-freight in New York. He traveled widely in his business and was involved in some of the original communications with both Russia and China as East-West relationships thawed in the 1970's.

With complications from his service years, Joe retired to Clipper Mills, CA. He was a devout Catholic and later than most, he found his calling and entered the St. Patrick's Seminary to become a priest. He lasted 4 years until his health once again became an issue. Joe will be missed by his many friends from all parts of the globe.

He is survived by his son Jared, daughter in-law Ann and his two brothers Tom and Steve along with sister in-law Susanne and his many cousins.

A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Challenge, CA at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow at the Ponderosa Community Center in Brownsville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lipp & Sullivan Funeral Directors, Marysville, CA.
