Joyce (Jodi) Nelson (Ainger), 68 of Marysville, CA, died April 16, 2016 in Sacramento, CA after battling a long illness. Joyce was born, February 26, 1948 in Yuba City, CA to Ira and Mary Anne (McMartin) Ainger. Joyce attended Yuba City High School then continued her education at Yuba College obtaining an AS degree in Veterinary Science.

Joyce spent a lifetime raising and showing Italian Greyhounds. She belonged to many organizations involving dogs including, Northern California Italian Greyhound Club, Two Cities Kennel Club where she served as President and Vice President for many years, and Donner Trail Kennel Club. She taught dog obedience for the Two Cities Kennel Club for many years.

We are grateful for God's grace during her final days. Joyce was surrounded by her children as she passed. Joyce is survived by; her brother and sister-in-law Don and Sue Ainger; children Kevin Summers of Auburn, CA, Kari (Les) Hall of Siletz, OR, Tiffany McLaughlin of Marysville, CA and Ryan (Lindsay) Detrick of Moccasin, CA along with 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Joyce was a beloved member of her family, one that believes above all else, family comes first. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her whole being. Her loss will be felt by many.

Joyce made the selfless decision to donate her body to science. Memorial Services will be held, Friday, May 6th, 2016 at 2 pm at the Live Oak Nazarene Church - Hope Pointe with a gathering after in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the IPIF, Incontinentia Pigmenti International Foundation - a deeply personal charity to Joyce. Donations can be made on the IPIF.org website. Donations can also be made to Canine Assistants, a Service Animal training facility, by going to canineassistants.org.
