Julian Lizardo Obituary

Julian died peacefully on Wednesday, January 11th in Yuba City, California with his family by his side after a year long battle with cancer.

Julian was born in Baguio, Philippines to Julian Lizardo Sr. and Delores Lizardo.

He moved to California in 1953 and attended grade and high school in Marysville. As a young man, he devoted his life to being a musician, attending hundreds of concerts and playing guitar and bass in several local bands. Later, he played music in the church for many years and held a quiet, but fervent faith in God.

He is remembered for having a steadfast devotion and love for his family, friends, and music.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lizardo, three children, nine grandchildren, and five siblings.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 16th at Sam Brannen Park in Yuba City at 11:00 AM. A meal and fellowship will follow.

There are people that you have more respect for over time and people you have less respect for over time. Julian was a definitely a more-respect type of guy! He had his base and basics right, and he always stayed true to the important things in life: God, Family, Friends, and Music. Heaven is welcoming a very KNOWN soul! As Danny's best friend growing up, I'll never forget his constant smile and relaxed spirit. He made every experience better: WWF (back before it was WWE) marathons, BBQs, making and eating lupitas, music listening, etc... He had those islander intangibles (like the Fujian and Samoans friends I have made in the Army): content, indominable, strong, happy, and the absolute truest friends! Have you ever heard a band with a great bass guitarist? His life made all those around him complete, strong, and full of rhythm. Cannot wait to join you JULIAN in the ultimate, never-ending, free concert in heaven. We will miss ya greatly until then! Much love!

I remember Julian from the 60's in the neighborhood in East Marysville. I remember his huge smile and easy laughter. We also played alot of basketball at Anna McKinney. I will be thinking about and praying for his family.
