Kanwarjeet (Kamer, Kam) Phagura Obituary

Kanwarjeet (Kamer, Kam) Phagura passed away at the age of 42 on April 9, 2015. Kamer was born on May 6, 1972 in Oroville, California.

Kamer lived most of his life in the Gridley-Live Oak area and worked as a farmer. He attended Gridley High School, where he not only excelled academically but was a star basketball player. He graduated with the class of 1990.

Kamer was the pride and joy of his parents, (late) Dalbir Singh and Surinder Kaur Phagura. He was the proud, older brother to Karen Phagura-Grewal and brother in-law, Sonny Grewal. He also enjoyed spending time with his extended family and had close bonds with his uncles, aunts and cousins. He could be seen at his happiest during big family gatherings.

Kamer was an avid reader and regularly visited the Gridley public library. He also enjoyed sports and was a huge fan of the Pittsburg Steelers, Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Hurricanes. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on April 15, 2015 from 11 am - 1 pm at Chapel of the Twin Cities & Crematory, 715 Shasta St., Yuba City, followed with services at Gridley - Live Oak Sikh Temple.
