Obituary Condolences

Kathleen (Kathy) Winter, RN, (71), resident of Yuba City, CA, passed away on March 28, 2014. Kathleen was born to William and Marjorie Gavin, on August 13, 1942, in St Paul, MN.

Kathy was married to Joseph Winter in 1963. Joe preceded Kathy in death in 1991.

Kathy passed away while visiting family. She died of natural causes â€" from a fall, while at her brother's home. She was Dog Sitting, MOLLY, the Dog.

Kathy is survived by two brothers, Jim Gavin (Betsy) of Albuquerque, NM, and John Gavin (Heather) of Windsor, CO; three nephews and two nieces on the Gavin side of the family, and brothers and sisters in law, with several nieces and nephews, on the Winter side.

She graduated from Baldwin, Wisconsin. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing, in Mpls., MN, where she met Joe Winter. As an RN she became a flight attendant for TWA. After flying for a few years, she married Joe, moved to California and went to work as an RN, in Sacramento, CA.

They moved to Yuba City and Kathy went to work at Sutter-Yuba Bi-County Mental Health Services, retired after almost 30 years. She also volunteered at several Elderly Care Facilities in the area. Her mother, Marjorie was her main patient.

Kathy was "Electronics Challenged. Calling on a "Land-Line" phone was her highest electronic skill level.

Travel was her hobby. To the Wis/ Minn area, vacations to San Francisco and Mendocino & the annual Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.

Kathy will be deeply missed by family, friends and co- workers.

A Celebration of Life & Memorial will be held to honor Kathy at: The Refuge Restaurant, at: 1501 Butte House Rd., Yuba City, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm., on Sat., Apr. 26, 2014. Casual dress will be appropriate.
