Kenneth Eddy Manies Obituary

Kenneth Eddy Manies was born August 11, 1942 to Ken and Juanita (Hagans) Manies in Richmond, California. Ken was a member of Cornerstone Church of Yuba City and he passed into another life on December 18, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Coffman Manies, and his brother Richard (Nancy) Manies of Lodi, California. Ken and Carolyn were great grandparents and legal guardians of their great grandson, Nolon Jacob Manies.

Ken and Carolyn had two sons, Karl Weston Manies of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Kenneth Charles Manies of Woodland, California. They had a granddaughter, Kimberlee Manies of Yuba City and grandsons, Weston Manies of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Logan Manies of Lincoln, California and Nathan Eddy Manies of Woodland, California. They had three great grandsons and one great granddaughter.

Ken served in the Army Military Police in Germany for three years and was a Traffic Officer with the California Highway Patrol for 31 years. Ken was a descendent of the Donner Party and often gave lectures in Northern California. He transcribed a diary written by Frank Grant, a Union Civil War soldier (VT) and was the author of two books An Honest Guide to Yellowstone National Park and The Oregon Trail: A Guide Of What There Is To See.

Funeral services and cremation will be private at his request.
