Kenneth John (KJ) Staas Obituary
Passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, due to the effects of a two plus year battle with pancreatic cancer. Ken was born on April 28, 1948 to the late Roy and Mary "Dententer" Staas. Ken passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife Kathie, his sweet Chihuahua Squeaky along with family.

Ken was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed very much by all who knew him.

Ken was a successful local dairyman and farmer for over 40 years, co-owning Staas Farms Inc. with his brother Paul. Also working closely with sons, Steve and Scott and nephew Tom - Paul's son. Ken's role in the farm was managing the dairy, at which he did extremely well.

Ken attended Notre Dame Elementary School and Marysville High School, graduating in 1966. Ken was a member of Future Farmers of America, Dententer 4-H and The American Jersey Cattle Association for several years. Ken also served in the Army Reserves from 1967 to 1974.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Mary; sister Melanie; brother-in-law Dave Hansen and nephew Larry Staas.

Ken is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathie "Davis" Staas; sons, Steve Staas (Cheri) and Scott Staas (Brandi), both of Marysville, CA; sisters, Judy Wiget (Paul) of Concord, CA and Diane Hansen of Yuba City, CA; brothers, Don Staas (Fern) of Marysville, CA, Jim Staas of Marysville, CA, and Paul Staas (Marie) of Marysville, CA; granddaughters, Kerstyn and Kristyn Staas of Marysville, CA and grandsons, Joey and Gabe of Marysville, CA, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ken's wife and sons would like to thank their family and friends for the love and support given to them over the past years. Also, they would like to thank everyone that was involved in Ken's treatment, especially Rideout Cancer Center and Rideout Hospice for all their kindness and support during Ken's battle.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make donations to Rideout Cancer Center or Rideout Hospice. No public viewing will be held, instead they ask, remember Ken as you saw him last.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park Cemetery, Olivehurst, CA.
