Larry Paul Patane Obituary

Larry Paul Patane, (age 66) passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on April 5, 2014. Born on May 7, 1947 to parents, Joe Sr. and Phyllis Patane in Gilroy, California.

Larry was a graduate of Sutter High School and later of California State University, Chico. He married Myra Shephard of Live Oak in Yuba City in 1970. They lived in Biggs where they has farmed for the last 44 years and they raised their 3 sons.

Larry was a long time member of the Sunsweet Growers Board of Directors and the Lake Madrone Water District. For the past 12 years he was employed with Cal Trans in both Truckee and Fort Bragg.

He is survived by his wife, Myra, of Biggs; 3 sons: Jason (Laurel) of Biggs, Aaron (Kelsie) of Chico, and Gino (Andrea) of Gridley; 8 grandchildren: Hannah, Brandon, Marissa, Maddox, Stella, Ava, Austin and Abigail; Mother, Phyllis of Yuba City; 2 brothers; Joe Jr. of Yuba City and Randy (Marilyn) of Davis; and friend Carrie Jones.

He was preceded in death by his father Joe Sr.

He enjoyed a full and successful life with his family and many cherished friends. Larry was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping at POMO campground and fishing off the coast of Fort Bragg as Captain L.P. of the Miss Behavin'.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Gridley, California on Friday, April 11th at 11:00am, followed by a reception at the Butte County Fair Grounds.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages contributions be made to Cal Star Flight Care (4933 Bailey Loop, McClellan, CA 95652) or Enloe Flight Care (249 W. 6th Ave., Chico, CA 95926).
