Lawrence Edward "Larry" Gallier Jr. Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Edward Gallier, Jr., entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior at home, while holding the hand of his bride of 36 years. Theresa Rohleder Gallier on October 13, 2017. He had battled Pancreatic Cancer for a year.

Larry was born February 17, 1959, in Lynchburg, VA, to Lawrence E. Gallier and Betty Owens Gallier, who both have preceded him in death.

He grew up with four wonderful siblings, Sheryl (Donald) Johns, David (Debbie) Gallier, Carol (Ron) Quaintance and Janet Denise Coffer, who all reside in Lynchburg, VA. Larry had three children and nine grandchildren. Daniel (Ashley) Gallier, with two daughters, Taylor and Emma, Derik (Nicole) Gallier, with son Hunter and daughter Paige and Brianna (Brian) Shaw, with daughter Kylea Gallier, son Kolton Gallier, step-daughter Brooke Shaw, step-son Bryson Shaw and daughter Madilyn Shaw.

He had been a father to many foster children who had lived temporarily in the Gallier home. Many of these children still refer to Larry as Uncle Harry Larry. Family was everything to Larry. He loved them all so very dearly. His greatest joy was being a father and a grandfather.

He was not a hugger or one to say "I Love You" all the time, yet he expressed his love in so many other ways. He wanted his children and grandchildren to have a full and wonderful life. It was important to him to have great experiences such as camping, swimming, riding motorcycles, quads and snowmobiles. He made his back yard into a beautiful park complete with swimming pool and custom made deck for the kids. He enjoyed traveling.

Larry had been a long haul truck driver for many years traveling through much of America. He vacationed with family to Hawaii. He cruised to Mexico as well as Catalina Island. He cruised to Jamaica where he climbed the famous Dunn River Waterfall, in Grand Cayman Island he swam with the Sting Rays and in Cancun he saw the Mayan ruin Tulum. His favorite vacation spot was Myrtle Beach, SC where he would go and meet up with all the siblings; when the Gallier family is all together the laughter shakes the roof. Larry had also worked at The Country Florist in Marysville where he had made life-long friends as well as friends from when he worked at the Olivehurst Pharmacy. He had been a member of several churches in the area including Bible Baptist, Grace Baptist and Hope Point Nazarene from which he has many friends.

One group of friends was very special to him. Every morning for over 12 years he would meet with them at the Donut Shop in Linda. People loved Larry's beard and his laughter. He will be remembered in the hearts of many as loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Larry is now on the beaches in Heaven. He has staked out a spot for all of his loved ones when it is time to join him. We'll see you at the beach Larry.

A Celebration of Life was held at Hope Point Nazarene on October 16, 2017. Donations can be made to assist the family at https://www.youcaring.com/
