Leon Arthur Morrissey Obituary
Leon Arthur Morrissey
Born November 10, 1944 in Berlin, NH. Leon passed away on November 9, 2017, one day shy of his 73rd birthday. He lived the past 8 years in Yuba City, but always considered himself a Marysville boy. He attended Notre Dame grammar school, Marysville High School and Yuba College. He proudly served in the Army from 1962-1965. Although he retired from Buttes Resources, his true passion was horses, roping and kids. He spent his life training horses and teaching kids to rope. He liked to team rope and work cattle but his greatest joy was sharing that knowledge with young people.

Leon never passed up an opportunity to let his family know how much he loved them. He and his wife, Sherry, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He also leaves behind his daughter, Michelle and her children, Jeremy Baumgardner, Chelsie Blevins and Shelby Baumgardner. His son, Michael, wife Wendy with their children Kayla Stogsdill, Jessica Peterson, Paydon Morrissey and Tate Morrissey. His sister Denise Connell and her family in Wisconsin are left to remember his kindness. Leon's legacy will live on in his great grandchildren, Aiden and Jaxon Blevins, Brock and Cody Baumgardner and Amber Stogsdill. He also leaves behind his wife's brothers and their family, David and Darlene Jean and James and Virginia Jean. He was met in heaven by his infant daughter Theresa and his parents Arthur and Julienne Morrissey.

Per his wishes there will be no formal service, but if you wish to honor him enjoy life and be kind to each other.
