Leon Lampkin Obituary

Leon Lampkin was a man who lived life and experienced a complete spectrum of what it offers; typifying "he lived life to its fullest!" Leon lost his mother after birth and after that he was raised by his grandmother till the age of four.

After many years of traveling throughout the country and serving in many occupations, he settled in Colusa, CA. It was there, working in agriculture, where he met and married Flavia Lampkin. Flavia had immigrated from Mexico to pursue a better life for her children, which she had left with family in Mexico. Leon encouraged her to bring her children and offered them a better life, adopting them and raising them as if they were his own. He was loved and adored by his kids, kids' friends and all those who met him.

Leon was a friend, a hard worker, a happy person and gave of himself unselfishly to all those whom knew him, regardless of who you were. He LOVED mankind. Many called him "Dad," because he treated all young people as if they were his own daughters or sons. As a grandfather and great-grandfather, he was loved and cared for. His legacy will continue through his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and so on… We will make you proud and carry your name and legacy "Dad." We LOVE YOU DAD… rest in PEACE!

Services will be held in Carmichael, CA at Sierra View Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd. on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 12 pm - 2 pm.
