Margaret Martina Burch Rockwell Obituary

Margaret Martina Burch Rockwell, 89, born in Whitesville, KY on October 18, 1926, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 23, 2016. She is survived by her loving daughters Janis (Rod) Short, Shirley (Jimmy) Johnson, Roxanne (Henry) Medina, Carol (Jim) Morrison, and Susan (Bob) Criss, eight grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her son, Floyd Duane Rockwell and husband Floyd Orrin Rockwell as well as her parents and four of her nine siblings.

Margaret was a natural leader, becoming President of almost every club she joined. She was a past President and life member of the Auxiliary of VFW Post 2563 in Yuba City and Sutter Village Apartments just to name a couple. Her roles in life were many and diverse, from being a loving and dedicated mother to being a real estate agent, bus driver for East Nicolaus High School, 4-H Club Leader, sales clerk, medical assistant, and working in an airplane factory during World War II. In her younger years she loved to crochet.

She was always quick to help anyone who needed it and always ready with a smile. She volunteered at Loaves & Fishes in Sacramento and was a Eucharistic Minister for St Daniel's Church in Wheatland when she resided there. At the time of her death, she was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Church in Marysville.

She meant so much to those who were close to her. Her painful journey through this life has ended and without her with us, ours will begin.

Private services will be held at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Joseph's Church or Sutter North Hospice.
