Maria de la luz Olivares Obituary

Mama Lucita was born to Juana Martinez and Felix Cordova on June 25, 1929. She went to be with her Lord on December 4, 2013 at the home of her loving daughter Rebecca in Colusa, CA.

She was raised by her grandmother, Mama Tacha, in San Juan de la Puerta, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Mama Lucita married Jose Concepcion Olivares (Concho on June 17, 1951.

Lucita came to the United States in 1960 with Concho and settled in Colusa, California where she raised her children while working as a farm laborer.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, knitting, and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

Mama Lucita is survived by her sons; Francisco (Gloria) Olivares, Ernesto (Rita) Olivares. Daughters; Maria (Bob Coker) Orozco, Lucy (Shane) Thompson, Juanita (Greg) Franklin, and Rebecca (Luis) Olivares de Leon. 23 Grandchildren and 34 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37years Jose C. Olivares, Sr., son Jose C. Olivares, Jr. and her mother Juana Martinez.

Visitation is scheduled for 5:00p.m.- 8:00p.m. with a Rosary services starting at 7:00p.m. Sunday Dec. 8th at the McNary- Moore Chapel 107 5th St. Colusa, CA. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00a.m. Monday Dec. 9th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 4th and Oak, Colusa, CA. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery 1741 Wescott Rd. Colusa, CA.
