Marilyn Lund Stowe Obituary

Marilyn Lund Stowe left this mortal world to return to her heavenly father early Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017, due to complications of kidney cancer. She was 88 years old.

Marilyn was born at home to Gustav Joseph Lund Jr. and Bertha Alleen Hoopes Lund on January 20, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The hardships of the "Great Depression" compelled the family to move from the Lund family home in Salt Lake to Los Angeles, then to San Francisco, where she graduated from Polytechnic High School.

In 1948, Marilyn married Philip Bacon. This marriage lasted for 24 years and produced four children. In 1973, she met her love and soul mate Nelson (Ned) Stowe. They married August 25, 1974, and soon after moved to Redwood City where they raised Marilyn's youngest child.

Ned and Marilyn loved taking drives and exploring the hidden gems of California. It was on one of these drives that they found their forever home on Dry Creek Lane in Browns Valley. It was there, after a lengthy stay in a care facility that she returned to spend her final days and to pass from this earth surrounded by her children and the love of her life.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ned; her children, Sharon (Jim) Ryan; Kenneth (Anna) Bacon; Patty Bacon (Belinda); and David Bacon (Suesan); seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren who all loved her dearly. ~Heartfelt gratitude goes out to hospice personnel, Gina and Sandi, and the entire staff of Sutter Health Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sutter Health Hospice in Yuba City, CA.
