Marilyn (Pat) Patricia Ten Bear (Freeman), 66 of Colusa, CA passed away peacefully on February 28, 2017 surrounded by her family after a three year battle with cancer.

Pat was born on February 12, 1951 in Colusa, CA to Stanford Lucas Freeman and Maggie Amy Mitchell. She was a tribal member of the Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians and actively participated as a board member until her passing. She was raised throughout Northern California in her early years, following the crop season with her family. She told of stories about working in the fields picking crops, everything from tomatoes, peaches to walnuts. After her father's passed, her family settled in Colusa where she finished her education and graduated from Colusa High School in 1969. She was active in sports and enjoyed basketball, volleyball and softball. She remained athletic in her later years.

She moved to San Francisco, CA to pursue a career in Cosmetology, where she met Gary Ten Bear. They later had two children out of this union. She moved to Crow Agency, MT., where she gained a whole new family. While there, she worked at Shake N Burger Hut and most people knew her as the mail carrier for the USPS in Hardin. She considered Crow her other home and hoped to return there again.

After her separation, she later moved to Shakopee, Minnesota and worked as a Slot Technician for Mystic Lake Casino. And then final made her circle back home to Colusa, CA where she enjoyed the remainder of her life.
