Mark Allen Hicks Obituary

Mark Allen Hicks gained his heavenly wings on August 3, 2017 at the age of 57. He was born November 20, 1959 in Walnut Grove, MO, to Junior Dale and Louella Hicks.

Mark was a versatile, all-around worker in many different industries, but worked in the meat industry the longest. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Colusa, CA, and enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, watching the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco Giants, bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues at Riverside Lanes and the Men's Travel Bowling League.

Mark's greatest joy was spending this last year and a half of his life as his role as "Patee" with his little buddy, grandson Wyatt. He also loved eating Lynn's homemade chocolate chip cookies. His faithful dog Hagen misses him already. His family is thankful that they were blessed with Mark attending a family reunion last month in Colorado, where he was able to see his entire family one last time.

Mark is survived by the love of his life of 33 years Rosemary Hicks of Colusa, son Jared Hicks (Kylee Galletti) of Grass Valley, daughter Alison Hicks (Mac Nelson) of Colusa, Jose R. Guizar (Angelina) of Redwood City, Haley Guizar (Jose Jimenez) of Gridley, and Carlos Guizar (Heather) of Colusa. Stepmother Shirley Hicks, brothers Donald (Cindy), Jimmy (Renee), Jeff (Kelley), Charles (Misty), and Greg (Kristal) Hicks, and sister Leisha Hicks. Grandchildren Baylee Guizar, Elliott Guizar-Jimenez, Benjamin Guizar-Jimenez, Wyatt Mark Nelson, Ian Guizar, and new grandson Kain Guizar, just born, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the McNary-Moore Chapel, 107 5th Street, Colusa, CA. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 345 Oak Street, Colusa, CA.

Memorial Donations may be made in Mark's name to the Colusa Area Little League as well as Colusa County Youth Football.
