Mark Andrew Miller Obituary

Mark Andrew Miller, 49, of Yuba City, CA, passed away March 31, 2014 at UCSF Medical Center while awaiting a heart transplant. Mark was born April 9, 1964 to Jack and Suzanne Miller of Olivehurst, CA, where he was raised, attended area schools and was the first student to graduate from New Life Christian in 1983.

After graduation Mark began working at the Gold Fields located in Yuba County. He started on the dredge as a stern decker and worked his way up to Mine Operations Manager, where he worked until the company closed in 2013. Mark also volunteered at the Olivehurst Fire Dept. where he served for 18 years with a final rank of Captain.

In November of 1984 Mark married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Stephanie Haggard, together they had two beautiful sons. Mark and Stephanie were blessed with 29 wonderful years together. Mark was not just a husband or a father he was a best friend.

Loyalty, honesty, trust and respect were traits that Mark lived by and he brought up his sons with these values. Mark was always working hard giving 110% to provide a better life for his family, always putting himself last.

As work allowed within the seasons Mark always did his best to make time to take his sons and father-in-law, David, hunting. Mark had no doubt that an enjoyable day of hunting together was the best quality time they could share. Mark's sons Matt and Keven would be the first to tell you those are the fondest memories they have with their dad.

Mark was preceded in death by his father Jack Miller and both sets of grandparents.

He is survived by his wife 29 years Stephanie, sons Mathew (Cynthia) and Keven (Jodi), mother Suzanne, brother Eric (Rachael) and In-laws David Haggard (Jacquelyn), David Haggard Jr. (Regina) and Alanna Davidson (Jim). Mark also leaves behind many other cherished relatives Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Cousins and their families.

Mark will be forever missed and always remember "We love you 2, because it's the most".

A celebration of life will be held at the Yuba City Moose Lodge, 205 S. Walton Ave., on Saturday April 12, 2014 from 1 to 4pm.
