Mary Agnes Gobel Obituary

Mary Agnes Gobel, 96, of Williams, died peacefully at home on July 20, 2016. She was born on November 16, 1919 in St. Gallen, Switzerland to Joseph Grob and Maria Muller and moved to Colusa County as a child, where she has remained a resident for the past 80 years.

Mary was very proud of her Swiss heritage. She enjoyed biking, was an avid walker and adored animals. Her hobbies included cooking, baking & canning and she volunteered at Valley West Care Center for over 25 years. Mary was an active member of the Parkside Methodist Church, as well as the "Senior Citizen Group", which held regular pot luck community luncheons.

She is survived by her children Cindy Gobel, of Williams, and Fred (Charleen) Gobel, of Eagle, Idaho, brother Ernie (Dottie) Grob, of Santa Rosa, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Louie Grob and Joe Grob, and sister Elsie Houge.

There will be a Celebration of Life luncheon held at the Parkside Methodist Church Social Hall, 936 G St., on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 12.00 noon.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to the Parkside Methodist Church at PO Box 515 Williams CA, 95987; the Sacramento Valley Museum at PO Box 1437, Williams CA, 95987; or the .
