MARY EDITH MELTZER CARTWRIGHT Obituary
MARY EDITH MELTZER CARTWRIGHT

May 08, 1951 - February 24, 2014

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Rio Oso Community Hall, for Mary Meltzer Cartwright of Rio Oso.

Mary, 62, was a lifelong resident of the Yuba-Sutter area, graduating from East Nicolaus High School in 1969. Mary worked in the insurance industry before settling down in Rio Oso, where she threw her life into her family. She suffered a debilitating stroke in 2007, which slowed her down, but didn't stop her. Mary was a fighter. Mary always found a way to come back from serious health setbacks, with a smile and her undying faith. She fought until the end, and is now in Heaven where she knows no pain or struggles.

Mary is survived by a son, Joshua Cartwright of Yuba City; a daughter, Cassie Dunbar of Rio Oso; a sister and brother in law, Cheryl and Tom Harreld of Yuba City. Mary is also survived by her father, Charles Meltzer and step-mother, Pat Meltzer of Fair Oaks. Mary was a wonderful mother, sister, friend and ""Mee Maw"" to her grandchildren, Wyatt and Weston Dunbar of Rio Oso and Dalton and Delaney Weger of Oakley.

Mary is known for her generosity that knew no limits often helping those in need. She was a great cook and put those skills to good use hosting dinners and parties for family and friends. Always a snappy dresser, there were never too many rhinestones or too much glitter, and her short hair was always perfectly coiffed, earning her the name ""Grandma Cotton Ball"". While our hearts ache for our loss, we find comfort in knowing that she is now in Paradise with the Heavenly Father and all of those who have gone before her.

We would like to thank all of our family and friends for your thoughts, prayers and unwavering support. We are truly blessed.

- Cheryl, Josh, and Cassie
