Mary Etta "Davis" Carr Obituary

Mary peacefully passed away on February 20, 2018 with her family surrounding her. She was born in Valparaiso, IN on January 29, 1942 to Darrell and Elizabeth Davis. She has been a resident of California since 1959, and lived in the broader Marysville community for over 40 years. She married Donal Carr on September 28, 1984. She is survived by her sister, Jan Black of Valparaiso, IN; was blessed with three children; Michelle Brasher of Pryor, OK; John (Lizanne) Clark of Marysville; and Ward Clark of Yuba City; and was a loving step-mother to Debbie Fish of Yuba City; Donna Gowland of Dessert Hot Springs, CA; Roy Carr (deceased) of Yuba City; and Wayne Carr of Yuba City. She was a loving Grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren as well as Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Mary was a devoted wife to Donal, and the two of them set a wonderful example to everyone. She was a classy, elegant, stylish lady, who loved life and it's many experiences, giving her great insight and wisdom. She was a proud Mama and Grandma. She had a beautiful laugh and smile that was infectious. She was a gracious hostess and was loved by everyone who knew her.

She loved art, handmade crafts, music and Christmas! Those who knew Mary were the recipients of many heart-made gifts and everyone loved her "Christmas" home. She was a fun person and had a special love for her "Bunco Babe" sisters and many others. She took great joy in attending any musical event, but especially when her son, Ward, was playing in the band. She enthusiastically attended every performance and was "Mom" to all the band members. She would sometimes sing along and harmonize with them.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters; Irma Kibbe; and Carol Street, brother David Davis, and grandson, Conner Varrone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Hillcrest Landing Restaurant in the Hillcrest Plaza, 229 Clark Ave., Yuba City tomorrow; Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 pm.
