Mary Fasulis Obituary

Mary Fasulis, nee Loizos, 93, of Marysville, California, died on Sunday, January 24, 2015, at Valley West Care Center.

She was born into a prominent Greek family in Catania, Sicily, Italy on December 15, 1921. Her parents were Nikolaos and Anna Loizos. The family moved to Greece in 1930 where she completed her secondary education. She was an accomplished musician and vocalist. During the war years, Mary helped to take care of her younger siblings.

In 1947, she met her husband, John Fasulis, a business man. They married that year and moved to his home town of Marysville, California where they raised three children, Nick, Louis and Linda.

Mary was an outgoing and sociable person and made many friends in the community, where she continued to live after the death of her husband in 1964, with a short period in Sacramento, California.

She developed an interest in palmistry and had a book published on the subject.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda Wekow; son-in-law, Alex Wekow; her granddaughter, Christine Williams and her husband, Charlie Williams; two great-grandchildren, Chaz and Jake Williams; her brother, Evangelos Louizos of London, England; and a sister, Evangelia Moustakis of Athens, Greece.

At the request of the decedent, there will be no services.
