Mary Helen Poss Obituary

Mary Helen Poss (Hight) of West Linda went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2015. Born August 23, 1932, in Royal, Arkansas (Garland County), she has been a resident of the Yuba-Sutter area since 1945.

She was a loving wife of 65 years to William C. Poss and a loving and dedicated mother to her children Ronald Poss (deceased) (Patricia) of Yuba City, David L. Poss (Kathy), of West Linda, Shelley R. Knox (Mike) of Gilbert, SC and Vicki L. Worthley (Rick) of Live Oak. She was also a loving grandmother (Nana) to her nine grandchildren Robin Allison of Yuba City, Amy Funderburk (Craig) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Kyia Lewis of Yuba City, Beth Bowers (Jamie) of Gilbert, SC, Amanda Wren (Mike) of Plumas Lake, Andrea Vasquez (Steven) of Yuba City, David Knox (April) of Sarajevo Bosnia; Kaity Worthley of Live Oak, and Courtney Worthley of Live Oak; her 15 great-grandchildren Kyle Poss, Kaitlyn Funderburk, Zakkary Allison, Vanessa Wren, Michael Wren, Cory Lewis, Nicole Funderburk, Reagan Funderburk, Lauren Bowers, Lucas Bowers, Gabriel Vasquez, Audriana Vasquez, Jackson Knox, William Knox and Zoe Baumbach; and her great-great-granddaughter Mila Poss.

She is also survived by her brothers Freddie Hight (Margaret) of Yuba City, Robert Hight (Patricia) of Yuba City and her sister-in-law Ruby Hight of Denver, Colorado.

She was predeceased by her parents Frazier and Sylvia Hight, brother Delbert Hight and sister Jolene Burgess.

She was a founding member of Bible Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her death.

Viewing will be Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 5-8pm at Lakeside Colonial Chapel, 830 D St., Marysville, CA. Funeral services will be June 26, 2015, at 11am at Bible Baptist Church, 2787 North Beale Rd., Marysville, CA. Pastor Kerry Brown will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bible Baptist Building Fund.

We would like to thank Rideout Hospital and Hospice Care for their kind and compassionate care of our mother and the family during this difficult time.
