Mary Louise Pescatore Obituary

Mary Louise Pescatore was born September 29, 1927, to Clyde Butler and Faye Tompkins Butler, the youngest of three siblings. She was called to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 12, 2017.

Mary was born and raised during the depression years in Missouri until the age of 16, when she and her mother moved to Diamond Springs, CA. She graduated from El Dorado County High School in Placerville, CA, and then moved to Sacramento where she was employed by the State Personnel Board for five years. It was in Sacramento that she met her first husband, Richard Pescatore, at a mutual friend's wedding. They were married in 1950, and moved to Colusa, CA, where she resided for the remainder of her life. They had two sons, James Robert and Steven John.

Upon moving to Colusa, Mary was employed with Lee Otterson Enterprises, and worked there for over 58 years. During their 43rd year of marriage, Richard died in March 1993.

In 1996, Mary met Ragnar Obrestad, who was visiting her church with his daughter. They were subsequently married in May 1996, enjoying 14 years of marriage until Ragnar's death in November 2010.

During her lifetime, Mary was very active in her church, serving in many offices. One of her most treasured moments was being installed as an elder. She enjoyed many trips with her family, particularly cherishing the trips to Disneyland with her sons and grandchildren.

Mary's father died when she was two years old and she often spoke of how blessed she, her sister and brother were to be raised and guided in life by her Christian mother. Throughout her life, Mary continued to grow in her faith and service to the Lord.

Mary loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved her family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and cousins. She loved her church family and her work family, along with her dear friends and neighbors. All were so much a part of her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mary on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 2pm, at the First Presbyterian Church in Colusa, CA.
