Mary Sue Bonzi Obituary

Mary Sue Bonzi, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on April 26, 2015.

Mary Sue Bonzi (Lewis) 71, was born on July 25, 1943 to Aline and William Grady Lewis in Harrisville, Mississippi. She preferred to be called "Sue". She was part of a large family. There were 8 members in all and Sue was the eldest daughter. She loved the sun and always had a beautiful tan. Sue was a very supportive and loving mother, a great partner and friend; most of all a fantastic wife, mother, a licensed vocational nurse and volunteer at the Yuba Thrift Shop.

Over the years, Sue and her daughter, Suzette would spend many days and weekends at the River or lakes sun bathing.

She met Donald Bonzi in Columbus Mississippi. They fell in love and married on December 14, 1963. Shortly after, their only daughter Suzette was born with hiccups on April 10, 1965. They were a military family. They moved to many locations over the years traveling with her husband during his USAF career to many countries and most states. Don would go to work and Sue would make their home a place of love and comfort. Sue took this job serious. She loved decorating her house and tending her beautiful flowers. She loved taking care of her family

She will be missed a whole lot. We are grateful that God gave her to us for a little while. We will see each other in heaven again and give each other a big hug.

In 1983, their daughter fell in love with Kevin shortly after high school and married two years later. Sue and Don loved their only son very much. They repeated the same life style as her parents; they were in the military and had a beautiful daughter that they named Samantha "Sue". Over the years Sue and her daughter would spend many vacations, birthdays, holidays and anniversaries with each other! Those were precious times.

She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, four months and 12 days, daughter Suzette and her husband Kevin of Paradise, CA, one granddaughter Samantha, and a brother A.C. Lewis of Harrisville, Mississippi.

Family and friends are invited to share in a Celebration of Sue's life on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Twin Cities, 715 Shasta St., Yuba City. Following Sue's Celebration of Life, there will be a reception with cookies, tea and coffee will be served.
