Masao Shimizu Obituary
Masao Shimizu passed away on January 4, 2014 at home in Yuma, Arizona. He was born on August 15, 1922 in the city of Byron, California. Raised and educated in Japan, he returned to California as a young man and made a living farming cling peaches in Yuba City. He was a gentle man, who loved to garden and build wood furniture, a craft he learned while in Japan. He loved sports, especially baseball, and was an avid Oakland A's fan, keeping score of every game. Most of all, he loved his family and especially his young grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sachie Shimizu; daughter Linda (Mark) Greenspan, son Dean (Jennifer) Shimizu; granddaughters Jessamine, Stephanie and Peyton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

His ashes will be held until his wife's passing and they will be buried together. There will be no memorial service.
