Melinda May Whitehead Obituary

March 26, 1967 - April 8, 2017

Melinda began her journey by blessing the lives of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Shirley Whitehead, and later her best friend/sister Starla Ann Whitehead. The sister's early years were filled with everything a young girl could dream of; two loving parents who lived for their every little boo boo, dolls, cradles, kisses, hugs, and beautiful dresses. They were the envy of most every little girl in our hometown. In their teens came slumber parties, dancing in the living room, girls running everywhere, and then came the boys, graduation and adulthood. The love from Melinda's Mom and Dad was something to be admired and some of us took them on as our own. Melinda was loved, and raised with the most important gift of all, the gift of love from a family who never leaves. She was a blessing to all who knew her, a true, loyal friend and family member.

As time passed Melinda started her family, three children in which you can see their mother ... tough, beautiful, kindhearted and just a joy to be around. The same spirit of freedom, excitement for life, and the same desire to love. Her choices in the names of her children, Triniti, Destiny, and Rainy are a reflection into the spirit of their mother. A very creative painter, a true legend in our little town, a dancer, a dreamer, a spiritual soul, a true and loyal friend. Melinda always had a warm smile for everyone. They say you are blessed if you can count your friends on one hand, Melinda was adored by so many and we were all so blessed to have known her.

Melinda is survived by her dad and mom, Jack and Shirley Whitehead and her sister Starla Ann Whitehead (nephew Leeland and niece Skyla); her beautiful daughters Triniti Ssamona, Destiny Ssummer, and her handsome son Rainy Sskies Jack and daughter-in-law Valeria. Melinda was especially fond of her four grandchildren Noah, Ethan, Nathaniel and Ana Leah. Her grandchildren were her life, and her most amazing treasures. Melinda is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of long-time friends.

Your spirit is free now fly, and stop in to see us from time to time. We will be watching for you. Love ya!

Please join us for Melinda's Celebration of Life at The Laughing Lotus Event Center, 103 C St., Marysville, CA 95901 on April 19, 2017 beginning at 4:00 pm.
