Miyako Molly Kimura Obituary

Miyako Molly Kimura, 92, passed away peacefully in Sacramento on May 12, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Yuba City on March 1, 1924 to Nobujiro and Motoyo Nakamura. She joins in rest her husband Kazuo Kimura and siblings Helen Iwasaki, Katherine Sato and Joe Nakamura. During internment, Molly joined her family at Tule Lake internment camp. She was active in many organizations. She was a master instructor in Ikenobo flower arranging. She was the only biwa (Japanese lute) instructor in the U.S. She was also active in the Buddhist Church, Sacramento Buddhist Church Women's Association, Senator Lions Club, Hiroshima Kenjinkai, Ikebana International and numerous other organizations. She is survived by her children, Sylvia and Clifford Kimura.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on May 21 at 2:00p.m. at the Sacramento Buddhist Church of Sacramento, 2401 Riverside Blvd. The family requests no Koden. Please make a donation to a .
