Miyeko Tanimoto Obituary

Age 93, of Yuba City, CA entered into eternal rest on August 25, 2014 after a lengthy period of deteriorating health. Born in California but raised in Japan. Returned to California to marry Shigeo Jack Tanimoto. She was detained at Tule Lake & Amache war relocation camps due to Executive Order 9066; while he served in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Service in the South Pacific and Okinawa.

Miyeko was an active member of the Buddhist Women's Association, enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting. She perfected the art of making Japanese pickles which she taught to many. She will be dearly missed.

Predeceased by husband S. J. Tanimoto and daughter Emy. Survived by son Herb and daughter Betty.

Memorial service at Marysville Buddhist Church on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 2 p.m.
