Nevelyn was a resident of the Yuba City and Live Oak area since 1936 where she and her husband Louis raised their family. She and her husband supported their family by first working in the harvesting of crops, later owning several ranches, operating a family market, and building homes.

Nevelyn was a hard worker in all their endeavors and after her children were out of school she went back to school and became a beautician. She opened and operated her own beauty shop called "Nevelyn's" for many years on Butte House Road in Yuba City.

In addition to her love of family, Nevelyn enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower garden which she shared with family and friends. She was a avid fisherwoman and always caught the most and biggest fish. She was competitive when it came to playing dominoes and cards.

Nevelyn was always involved in some form of arts and craft project and shared her creations with family and friends. She had a long life, was independent and enjoyed good health until the last few years. She will be missed by friends and family.

The family appreciates each kind thought of friends, family and the caring concern of all medical professionals, including the staff at the Fountains and Emerald Oaks.
