Nathalee Wilbur Obituary

Nathalee Wilbur, longtime resident of Yuba City, entered into her eternal rest on June 9, 2017, just short of her 94th birthday. Lovey, as she was known, was born July 25, 1923 in Live Oak, CA to James and Alice Cook. Growing up she moved around a lot as it was the depression years and life was a struggle. She always said they were happy and lived on a farm somewhere and had enough to get by. She married Richard E. Wilbur and began her life in Yuba City in the same home she occupied up until her death. She worked for Hub Heating & Air in Yuba City for several years.

Lovey is preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Wilbur; son Richard L. Wilbur and sisters Jacqueline Perkins and Kathleen Mills.

She is survived by her four daughters, Deborah Wellman-Haskell of Marysville, Beth Boucher (Brad), Mary Chow (Ray) and Jacqueline Brown (John) of Yuba City; also 5 grandchildren, Cindy Pfiester of Yuba City, Gregory Wellman (Chantel) of Sacramento, Gabrielle Tejeda (Daniel) of Yuba City, Adam Hegwood of Medford, OR and Madeleine Chow of Yuba City; 3 great-grandchildren, Michael, Althea and Iris Pfiester of Yuba City and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Lovey was a wonderful mom, grandma, aunt and friend. Her passing leaves an unfillable void, so many of us were impacted by her and all the exceptional things she accomplished in her almost century of life. She is going to spread her wings and fly away, she is going to hit that wind just like an arrow ... lady don't you know we're thinking of you. Rest in peace - we love you.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Sutter Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Arrangements under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
