Norma Copelin Obituary

Norma Kay (Brandt) Copelin, 75, of Live Oak, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Daly City California.

Norma was born in Gridley, California to Carl and Bertie Brandt on July 16, 1941. She graduated from Live Oak High School in 1959. She worked at Jimerson's Family Pizza in Live Oak and Holiday/Sav-Mor in Gridley for many years. She regularly attended the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Live Oak. She was well known for her cooking and baking in the community. Known by some as "The Cookie Lady", she provided thousands of cookies for V.B.S., school board meetings, and school fundraisers. She loved the ocean and was always ready to go on an adventure. She loved spending time with her cousins in the Bay Area and was loved by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Dwayne Copelin.

She is survived by her brother, Verne Brandt, her three children, Tim (Barbara) Copelin of Live Oak, Lisa (Billy) Ritter of Bakersfield, Melinda (Terry) Jones also of Live Oak, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are to be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 10421 Larkin Road, Live Oak, graveside at the Live Oak cemetery.
