Nyssa Joy Bennett Obituary
Nyssa Joy Bennett
Nyssa Joy Bennett, age 17, of Yuba City, CA passed away Feb. 7, 2014 at UC Davis Medical Center from respiratory illnesses. Nyssa was born Aug. 18, 1996 in Oroville, CA.

She had her own ways of communicating, and many people around the world were touched by her simple giving and receiving of love.

Nyssa enjoyed watching NASCAR, trips to Disneyland and the Zoo... Nyssa enjoyed simply being a part of anything that was happening. She loved school. She loved riding the bus. Nyssa loved her teachers, aids, drivers and classmates.

Nyssa delighted in watching birds and children playing. Her nieces and nephew would crawl all over her and she never complained. They loved her. Their first steps included climbing up on her wheelchair and using her bib to clean off her face. She loved the attention! She had her moments… Nyssa could be a Drama Queen! If she didn't like it, she let you know! Somehow though, she always managed to get her own way!

Nyssa is missed by her parents, Jim & Jayne Bennett; her siblings, Daisy Strickland, David Bennett, Rebecca & Bruce Colwell, Joshua & Sara Bennett; and many nieces, nephews, aunties and uncles.

Celebrate Nyssa's Life with us at our home on Saturday, April 5, 2014, 10 am - 4 pm.

On several occasions Nyssa received life-extending care from Shriner's Children's Hospital. We think Nyssa would agree that, if you would like, Shriner's would be a great place to donate a memorial to her. www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/donate

We first met Nyssa when she was 13 days old. That very evening our heavenly Father told us He liked the name we had chosen and to go on ahead and make her one of our own!

Viewing the world thru her eyes has been a lesson of Love. Nyssa was a living example of the worth of selling all you have to purchase the Pearl of Great Price. Jesus lived and loved in our baby. And we were honored to give and receive right on back.

We are thankful for 17 most wonderful years. Our little Angel is no longer in a wheelchair… she is running and singing with her Captain.

Nyssa Joy Bennett, you truly were a garden of joy and gladness! You were the song in our hearts. We love you forever. Isaiah 51:3
