Patricia (Patsy) Notestine Obituary

Patricia (Patsy) Notestine, 80, of Marysville, passed away on November 11, 2014. Pat was born August 23, 1934 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Ben and Dora LaGrand. Pat was a lifelong resident of the Yuba-Sutter area. She attended Franklin Elementary School and Notre Dame High School in Marysville.

Later in life, Pat went on to achieve her dream of becoming a nurse. She began her career working for Yuba County General Hospital. She went on the serve as a nurse for the Yuba-Sutter Jail and Juvenile Hall population. She ended her career at Rideout Memorial Hospital where she worked for many years before retiring in 1999.

After retirement, Pat continued to pursue her passion by donating her time and nursing skills by providing disaster relief for the Red Cross. In addition to nursing, Pat enjoyed acting and singing in local musicals performed at Yuba College. More than anything, however, it was her role as wife and mother that Pat enjoyed the most.

Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl Notestine, and brothers, Jack, John Bill, and Tony LaGrand. She is survived by her six children, Randy, Debra, Jamie, Cathy, Clay and Patrick Thomas; grandchildren, Tricia Vanover, Sandy Notestine, Rebecca Black, Randy Notestine, Jr., Justin Davis, Jonathan and Amy Nieto, Jeremy Nieto, Joshua Nieto, Lisa McKinney, Andrea Cruz, Steven Plautz, Rochelle Hudson, Bob Hudson, Jr., Tina Cruz, Shawn Notestine, twenty great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thank you to Dr.'s Wil Nakashima and Michael Chin, whose compassionate care meant the world to Pat and her family.

A memorial service will be held at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at 5:00 PM with Father Manuel Ponce of St. Joseph's Catholic Church Marysville officiating. Burial will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery Dixon with her husband, Earl Notestine.
