Patrick Raymond Waite Obituary

Patrick "Pat" Raymond Waite, 81, of Colusa, California, passed away, Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at his home.

Pat was born October 21, 1932, in Covington, Kentucky to Raymond and Evelyn (Vannatter) Waite. Pat attended schools in Covington, graduating from Holmes High School in June of 1952. While a junior at Holmes, Pat met Faye who later would become his wife on June 27, 1953. Pat and Faye had been married for 39 years when Faye passed away on October 3, 1992. During the mid-1990's Pat met Sharon who would later become his wife on June 21, 1997. Pat and Sharon would have been married for 17 years this June. They enjoyed traveling and just spending their time together.

Late in 1952 Pat received a letter from the local draft board and he decided to join the US Air Force and was accepted for duty on December 1, 1953. Pat served for a total of 26 years serving two tours overseas in Thailand. Pat retired at Beale AFB on December 31, 1978. Prior to Pat's military retirement, he was honored by then governor of Kentucky, Julis Carroll, by conferral of the title "Kentucky Colonel."

Pat's Masonic membership began in 1963. He was elected Worshipful Master in 1985, he was a plural member of Hammonton Lodge No. 433 of Sutter and also served as a member of the Marysville Assembly No. 10, Rainbow for Girls. Pat was selected to receive the Hiram Award by the Corinthian Lodge in 1995. He also spent many hours volunteering his time as a Shriner Clown named "Trailer".

Pat was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1979.

Pat is survived by his wife Sharon, son David (Andrea) Waite, daughter Desiree (Tim) Bishop, and four grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeff) Allread, Heather (Brandon) Kesterson, Jason (Kristi) Waite, Lauren (Shane) Williams and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, June 2, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond Street in Yuba City. Funeral services for Pat will be at the First United Methodist Church, 730 D Street in Marysville on Tuesday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. Pat will be laid to rest at the Sutter Cemetery in Sutter with a reception directly following at the First United Methodist Church in Marysville.
