Paul W. Johnson Jr. Obituary

Paul W. Johnson, Jr. passed away on August 19, 2014, in Yuba City, CA, and was born in Hermosa Beach, CA to Paul W. Johnson and Mayzie Gregg Johnson. He was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, and one sister. He has one surviving sister, Lucy, who resides in Reno, Nevada.

Paul was raised and educated in Delanco, New Jersey. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1963; however, his time in the Air Force was short due to the deterioration of his eyesight. Even though Paul became legally blind, this did not slow him down as he did everything that he was determined to do.

Paul was also a twenty-plus year member of the following organizations: La Society Des 40 Hommes ET 8 Chevaux, better known as 40 & 8, Voiture #557 holding the top office of Chef De Gare, The American Legion Linda Post # 807 and the Yuba Sutter Amateur Radio Club, holding office in both. He assisted in many events, such as the Bike Around the Buttes, MS Walk, The Veteran's Parade and many other events.

He will sadly be missed by many whose lives he touched and we will all miss his special way of saying good-bye, "HAVE A DAY".

A Military Service and Celebration of Life will be conducted by the Son's of the Legion at The American Legion Linda Post # 807, on Feather River Blvd., on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at The Veteran's National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to the in his memory.
