Philip Emery Hohman Obituary

Philip Emery Hohman, Sr., 75, of Yuba City, California, passed away on January 8, 2018 at home.

Phil was born on October 10, 1942 to Bernard and Ruth Hohman in Marysville, California. After his mother's death he was raised by his grandparents, father, and step mother, Levita. Together they raised a man with a heart of gold and a colorful sense of humor. Laughter followed Phil as he had a knack for telling jokes and stories. He had many roles in life: a friend, coach, jokester, solider, Chaplin; however, his most love roles was being a husband, father, and grandfather. He loved fast motorcycles, cars, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, gold mining, and having fun with friends and family.

Phil was a Veteran of the United States Army and served a tour of duty in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Gridley VFW Post where he served as Service Officer and Chaplin. He was a Noble Grand Humbug for The Frank C. Reilly Chapter of E. Campus Vitus. He was a member and Chaplin for the Crusaders for Christ Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist Association.

Phil is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn and their beloved children and grandchildren: Philip Hohman, Jr., Rhonda Wanner, Kimberlee Arnold, Brian Arnold, Nelson, Allyssa, Kaedie, and Joshua.

A celebration of Life will be held at Faith Tabernacle Church, 760 Spiva Avenue, Yuba City, on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Yuba Sutter Veterans Stand Down.
