Piare Singh, a 46-year resident of Yuba City, California, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012, at her residence.
Piare was born on August 12, 1933, in Pakistan to Shiv & Sibi Dhanota and was the youngest of six children. Piare married the late Gurbachan Singh and moved to the United States in 1966.
Piare truly lived life through simple pleasures; working in her garden, cooking, shopping, chatting with friends and family, being a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Piare is preceded by her late husband Gurbachan Singh; her youngest son Sukdev Tatla; and brothers Dalip S. Dhanota and Piara S. Dhanota.
Piare is survived by her daughter Surinder Tumber and her sons Satnam S. Tatla and Jaspal S. Tatla, all of Yuba City, CA; brothers Dewan S. Dhanota, of Yuba City, CA, and Rattan S. Dhanota, and Atma S. Dhanota, both of San Jose, CA; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
Piare's strength, courage, and unconditional love is respected and admired by those whose lives she touched. Piare's memory will forever be in our hearts.
Prayer services will begin at the Ullrey Memorial Chapel, Yuba City, CA, at 11:00 am, on Sunday December 16, 2012, followed by final prayers and cremation. Additional prayer services will follow at Sikh Temple, Bogue Road, Yuba City, CA.
